    Black and Brown Herb Exchange Kitchen Framework

    The BBHX “kitchen clock” begins at 8 in the morning, with peak hours from 8a-8p. Off-peak hours are overnight, from 8p-8a. Hourly rentals require a minimum of 3-hours per session.

    All kitchen rentals include access to a six-burner gas stove, convection oven, commercial ice machine, triple sink, double sink, dishwasher, shallow sink, stainless steel table, wood block table, blender, crockpot, shared cambros of various sizes, strainers, assorted stock pots, skillets, etc.

    This kitchen is primarily outfitted for herb farmers and product makers. We are designed and operated for folks who get licensed by ODA. Food makers who need Multnomah County licensure may find that they need a different kitchen.

    We encourage multiple businesses to consider sharing a full day rental together as a single subtenant.

    Hourly kitchen rentals do not include dry storage or refrigerator access. Walk-in freezer access is by separate rental agreement.

    We are located in the Gotham Building on N. Interstate and Albina. We are across the street from a Max station.

    Pricing

    Weekly half or full day means renting that day or half day every week for an ongoing period of time.
    Example: Tuesdays, Weekly, 8a-8p

    Hourly, peak, (8a-8p) $20/hr
    Hourly, off-peak (8p-8a) $18/hr
    Weekly, half day, peak (8a-8p) $350/mo
    Weekly, half day, off-peak (8p-8a) $300/mo
    Weekly, full day $600/mo
    Weekly, freezer only TBA

    Rent includes bi-annual grease trap cleaning, bi-annual hood servicing, refrigerator storage, dry storage, use of the rented dishwasher, and basic supplies like paper towels and sponges. Utilities are included in rent and rent is subject to change if utilities change.

    Overall we're aiming for a small community of kitchen users who come together to make the overall rent. Fewer renters, each with more hours, means more storage and access for each of us.

    BBHX does not make an income on the kitchen.
