Leaven is a collaborative kitchen and resource center that allows for both. We are certified under Department of Agriculture, for the production of food and beverages that would be packaged and sold wholesale or retail. Think prepared meals that your customers would just warm up at home, beverages, baked goods.
Our members-first approach brings every facet of running a successful food business within reach. Along with having a commercial kitchen space to create, members have a place to work on their business.
A communal office space is available for returning emails, sending off invoices, and networking in-house. A classroom/test kitchen is also on-site and can be used for cooking classes, photo shoots, taste testing, community dinners, pop-ups and other events.
Robust programming will be available post COVID-19 that teaches everything from business planning, financing, smart growth, health and safety, hiring, and even finding and procuring a commercial location if/when they outgrow our space.
Our a la carte payment model and low monthly requirements will go against the traditional archetype of steep up front pricing and yearly contracts. This will allow members, no matter where they are in their process, access to the infrastructure and education needed to succeed.
Stations are an average of $15-20 an hour, however, keeping budget in mind, we also have a 20% discount for those who work during non peak hours.
Dry, cool, and freezer storage are available, and charged weekly.
Administration fees are dependent on how much help you need to be a legal food business and range from $100 - $450, but all fees can be spread across your first three months.
