Mill Street Market is a startup community hub in Hastings, Michigan, bringing together local food systems, entrepreneurship, education, childcare, and community wellness to strengthen rural communities and create new opportunities for growth. Our campus includes a Farm Stop Market and Cafe, Little Sprouts Child Development Center, entrepreneurship and workforce development programs, and a commercial teaching and incubator kitchen designed to support farmers, food entrepreneurs, students, and community members.

About the Kitchen & Culinary Education Program

At the heart of Mill Street Market is our commercial teaching and incubator kitchen—a dynamic space where food, education, entrepreneurship, and community impact intersect.

More than a shared-use kitchen, this program serves as a catalyst for small business development, workforce training, culinary education, and local food system growth. The kitchen will support food entrepreneurs launching and scaling businesses, provide hands-on culinary education for youth and adults, create workforce development opportunities, collaborate with local schools and community organizations, and help connect local farmers to new markets and value-added opportunities.

The Kitchen & Culinary Education Manager will lead the development and operation of this program from the ground up. This role combines kitchen operations, program development, entrepreneur support, partnership building, grant and fundraising activities, and community engagement. The successful candidate will help create a vibrant hub where food entrepreneurs can grow their businesses, community members can gain new skills, and innovative programs can strengthen the local economy.
