The RAIN Incubator Kitchen at Harvest Algoma is where Northern Ontario food entrepreneurs go from idea to shelf. Managed by the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, this fully equipped, health-inspected commercial kitchen gives you everything you need to build, test, and scale your food business - without the overhead of owning your own facility.
The kitchen features professional-grade equipment including convection and commercial ovens, blast freezer, steam kettle, tilt skillet, proofer, dehydrator, vacuum sealer, food slicer, grinder, mixers, and processors. Extensive dry, cold, and freezer storage plus warehouse space round out the facility. With 24/7 access and convenient online booking through The Food Corridor, you work on your schedule.
What sets this kitchen apart is what comes with it: SSMIC's business consulting, training, and access to funding programs are available to help you grow beyond the kitchen. Whether you're in the idea phase or scaling an existing product line, you'll find the support here to move forward.
Base rate — $25/hr + HST. Perfect for one-off prep or trying out the kitchen before committing to a plan.
Silver Plan — 15 hrs — $350 + HST. Great for testing a new product, occasional catering prep, or getting your first batches off the ground.
Gold Plan — 25 hrs — $575 + HST. Ideal for regular caterers, bakers, or small-batch producers who need consistent kitchen time each month.
Platinum Plan — 50 hrs — $1,110 + HST. Built for businesses in active production mode who need reliable, high-volume access.
