Virginia Foodworks manages the commercial use of Prince Edward County Cannery in Farmville, VA. This facility features an array of fresh produce processing equipment and steam-jacketed kettles. We operate on a flexible co-packing model that includes our kitchen manager and as many of our staff (or your own helpers) as you would like. We specialize in creating shelf-stable acid and acidified foods like jams, hot sauces, marinades and more. We are able to make some dry-mixed or refrigerated products but do not have the capability to process meat products or do any baking, frying, or dehydrating.
We offer support with navigating the regulations and offer a variety of in-house recipes specially designed for farmers to take their extra produce and turn it into value-added products like salsa, pepper jelly, and more.
